Our Church Street Meetup is a New Event for Tdot Shots and Tdot.cc (Great Spot for a Photo Walk and Walking Tour)
Welcome to this announcement post. Our upcoming walk on Church St promises to be a unique event in our spring series. It’s a brand new photo walk meetup and we’re excited to explore the area downtown.
Presented by Tdot Shots and led by Mike Simpson, our meetup is not a tour per se, but with the abundant history in the area this walk lends itself to plenty of exploration in the fashion of a walking tour. And if you are interested in a tour we are glad to oblige – just reach out and let us know.
Though we offer informal meetup and formal tours, this type of walk could also be undertaken unguided. The route is flexible and centers on Church St., the main north-south street in the downtown east of Yonge. Just be aware that the east side can be gritty and you should keep an eye on your belongings and equipment.
Our meetup will be ambitious we will walk from Bloor St south to Front St. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes and umbrella those spring rains are lurking!
Some highlights:
- Churches and cathedrals including St. James cathedral on King
- Maple Leaf Gardens – ice rink and former home to the hockey team
- Allan Gardens – greenhouses and park
- the Village – Church and Wellesley
- pawn shops and camera stores
