This contest is going to be AWESOME!

When was the last time you heard about a Toronto area photography contest? This city is one of the most photographed places in the world and yet there are few competitive and community-based venues for aspiring photographers to promote themselves.

The Tdot Shots Toronto Photo Contest launches Friday November 1 and continues to Sunday December 15. We look forward to seeing your entries!

This city is full of talented photographers and this contest is a means to recognize that talent and reward three lucky photographers with prizes. Our generous sponsor, ProLab Canada, has donated three $100 gift certificates for their printing services and products.

There are three categories and in part they have the ability to crossover. Whether you submit photos that are landscape, cityscape or street, be sure they are distinctively Toronto or Greater Toronto. Photos that do not contain recognizable places in the city and region cannot qualify. Also be sure to follow the date rules. Posts with a timestamp before or after the period Nov 1 to Dec 15 will be excluded.

Our judges are Taku Kumabe, Kurt Wang and me, Mike Simpson. You are not required to follow us but if you do follow us and engage with us, it’s likely we will follow back and support your photos with likes and comments. We will select finalists in each category and decide collectively on the winners. Finalists will be announced and awards will be handed out at the Tdot Shots Winter Photo Walk on December 22.

Good luck to all who enter!
