Who are you?
My name is Ash and I’m from the Toronto area. I work in Communications/PR and I take photos in my spare time.
How long have you been doing photography?
I’ve always enjoyed photography, but I didn’t start shooting consistently until about 3 years ago.
What do you like to shoot and where?
For the most part, Toronto has been my playground. Our city has so many stories to tell and it’s been a great place to learn and grow as a photographer. I love to shoot long exposures so I tend to gravitate to wherever I can get a view of the skyline. Humber Bay Park is one of my favourite spots.
Recently, I’ve started spending more time shooting in conservation areas and just generally exploring the GTA looking for scenery that catches my eye. I’ve also been experimenting with black and white which I’ve really enjoyed.
I also travel to Ireland to see my family almost every year. It’s a great place to go exploring. The photo opps are endless.

What gear do you use?
I shoot with a Nikon D500 and a wide range of Nikon lenses. I’ve got both HOYA (circular) and Nisi (holder system) ND filters. I also have a Mavic Pro drone.
Who are your favourite photographers?
There’s so much talent out there that I could go on for ages, but here are a few that have inspired me. @jakegrahamphoto, @markjinksphoto and @kmexplores for making me want to see more of Canada. The gang from @the_full_irish_ cause Ireland rocks. @bglandscape tours for the best Insta stories and making me want to travel. @killianmoore @joethommas for all things NYC, my new obsession. Here in TO, there are way too many to mention. I’ll just say, they’ve all inspired me in one way or another.
