March Events in Downtown Toronto – Photo Walk Tours on Yonge St (Illuminite Light Festival and Allan Gardens)
We are happy to announce two amazing photo walks and tours taking place this March in downtown Toronto. Both are very unique. The night photo walk will explore the “Illuminite” light installation which runs through March on Yonge street and the day time walk is at Allan Gardens (open all year).

Illuminite Night Photo Walk, March 16, 2024
According to our friends and photo walk sponsor Downtown Yonge BIA:
“The Downtown Yonge BIA is thrilled to announce “Illuminite”, a month-long interactive light festival in Downtown Toronto from March 1-31, 2024.✨ The installations will take you around the Downtown Yonge neighbourhood and are free to attend for audiences of all ages.”
Sounds like fun and we cannot wait to check it out. Note that the festival runs all month and our particular event is March 16. Mark it on your calendar and be sure to RSVP.
This night photo walk will offer a chance to practice creative night photo techniques including long exposures and the use of tripods. We welcome all photography enthusiasts Bring your mirrorless or DSLR or feel free to just use a smartphone. Tdot Shots facilitator Mike Simpson will offer some photo tips to help you with your low light photography. Be sure to register at tdot.com/events.
Spring Walk and Tour at Allan Gardens, March 24, 2024
Our “First Day of Spring” event follows a week later on March 24. (first day of spring is March 19). On this downtown tour and photo walk we will explore the marvelous Allan Gardens conservatory with its plants, flowers and gardens, and then capture some street photography on our way to TMU aka Toronto Metropolitan University and Yonge-Dundas Square.

Allan Gardens and Yonge St. Photo Walk Tour
Allan Gardens to TMU and Dundas Square! Free walking tour!
This unique photo walk and tour takes place on March 24, 2024. We are welcoming the first day of spring and the arrival of a new season with a visit to Allan Gardens conservatory, a Toronto gem. We will walk to Toronto Metropolitan University and Yonge-Dundas Square.
